Trade voices views on NCT
Share:

We have had a great response from our appeal for trade opinion on the NCT system, with many interesting views expressed.

Some of the major concerns raised about present testing include:

-    An instant fail and no emissions tests for diesel cars with an illuminated engine warning light.

-    NCT only running from date of registration not date of test.

-    Inconsistency in shock absorber checks.

-    General communication and cooperation of test centres.

With further changes to the NCT planned we are keen to gain as much opinion as possible on the test. This includes:

-    What problems do you experience with the NCT system?

-    Are there improvements that you feel could be made to the testing system?

-    Have recent changes to the test caused any issues for your garage?

-    How do you feel the NCT system compares to the CVRT system?
