Top UK bodyshop chain signs Mirka deal

The Balgores Motor Group, a major UK accident repair centre chain, has signed a three-year deal with Mirka UK to provide refinish sanding and abrasives products to its 11 bodyshops. Under the agreement Mirka will also provide ongoing training and support to Balgores technicians.

The move follows a recent rationalisation programme of all Balgores suppliers to reduce its administration and control its costs more closely.

Group Operations Manager at Balgores Andy Pennell, commented, “We needed to reduce the number of suppliers we were using as the whole process had become unwieldy.  We’ve been using Mirka products for around eight years and it was a unanimous decision to continue with the company as a preferred supplier because the products are high quality, provide value for money and its training and ongoing business support is second to none.”

Craig Daycock, Managing Director of Mirka UK, said, “We’re delighted that Mirka products have received the full endorsement of the Balgores repairers for their quality, efficiency and value.  We work hard to ensure that repairers understand that our full commitment doesn’t stop when they receive a sander and set of abrasives.  To be a true business partner you have to extend your support to provide consultancy, advice, training and identifying opportunities to help bodyshops grow their businesses.  It’s hugely satisfying to know that for Balgores we tick all of their boxes.”
