The Eure!Car Certified Master Class training concept has arrived in Ireland with a series of special introductory sessions at the J&S Automotive premises in Dublin, featuring two of the specially adapted cars.
Eure!Car is a new concept in training for the Irish independent aftermarket which will provide practical hands-on training for garage owners and technicians on a local basis. The key focus of the training initiative are the Eure!Cars themselves, which are actual vehicles which have been specially adapted to simulate technical issues encountered in workshops. This allows those attending the training sessions to gain a practical understanding of how to diagnose, trace and resolve issues on common vehicles.
The introductory sessions were attended by J&S motor factor customers from around Ireland and a number of technicians who got to see two of the cars close up and see for themselves how technical issues can be simulated using a special device known as a Gedbox. They were also given an overview of the major resources behind the training initiative and the practical benefits it can bring to both motor factors and workshops.
Dani Orta of Grup Eina International, the company working in partnership with J&S to deliver this training in Ireland explained how the concept had been developed by ADI (Automotive Distribution International) as the scale of the training initiative required a Europe wide approach. He detailed how the training and technical back up services provide had already proved a huge success in many other European countries. The central operation based in Spain employs over 100 staff who provide training, man a 24 hour call centre and produce detailed vehicle technical information including full wiring diagrams.
Dani also pointed out that this experience in providing aftermarket technical information had allowed his company to tailor a tried and tested training and technical support package to meet the needs of the Irish market. This will involve working both with J&S and local motor factors to deliver training packages. These will be 70% hands on and focus on real life technical issues that are reported to the European call centre. It was also explained that this hands on training approach had proved the most successful, based on the philosophy of, "Tell me and I may forget. Show me and I will remember, Involve me and I will understand.”
In order to provide training and technical back-up services in the Irish market a new training and call centre is currently being set-up in Swords, which will officially open in September. This will provide a base for an initial team of 5 technical trainers, who will all be qualified technicians specially trained by the Eure!Car team to deliver technical training in an informative interactive and easily accessible way. The trainers will have access to 25 specially adapted Eure!Car vehicles, which have been chosen to provide comprehensive car parc coverage based on common engine use and cross over platforms.
The Eure!Car training initiative will be showcased at special presentations in Dublin, Cork Limerick and Galway in September, where attendees will be able to see the adapted cars, view elements of the training modules and speak to the expert trainers.
