Warehouse and rack system supplier OHRA has developed a new system of cantilever racking to offer increased storage flexibility and reduce warehouse maintenance and repair costs. The system has been installed by Outokumpu Nirosta a sheet metal supplier and will also offers excellent potential for car and commercial vehicle component suppliers.

Outokumpu Nirosta produces high quality stainless steel sheet metal in an increasingly wide range of dimensions and found conventional racking systems lacked the flexibility that they required for effective storage. In particular rigid weld supports meant racking adjustment was generally not possible and any damage to racks also required a welded, time consuming, repair.

The new OHRA racks installed have the rack supports inserted into the stands, not welded. Even under load the inserted supports remain flexible and mobile and deflect in the event of impacts from the forklift truck or goods. The rack stands are perforated in a 100 mm grid and so can be adjusted to meet changing storage needs. Furthermore, the rack supports can be adjusted without the need for tools.
