Brembo XTRA offers sports performance, comfort and durability

Brake specialist Brembo says there has been a great response to the launch of its new XTRA brake pads at last year’s Automechanika Frankfurt. Developed to maximize the advantages of Brembo's Aftermarket range of drilled and slotted discs, the pads offer the enthusiast car driver, who enjoys sports driving without compromise, performance, comfort and durability.

The XTRA brake pads are manufactured by Brembo using BRM X L01 material made from more than 30 different components that have been developed by its advanced research laboratory. This makes Brembo XTRA pads the perfect match for the XTRA and MAX sports discs. The BRM X L01 compound also assures low disc wear, under all driving conditions, despite a greater performance compared to the standard compound.

This level of performance has made these pads the choice of car manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen and many more, not just for sports models but also SUVs.

Brembo XTRA brake pads undergo a scorching treatment to eliminate in advance those gases that can cause a significant reduction of the friction coefficient between the disc and the pad at high temperatures (known as “fading”). This causes a loss of braking efficiency. Thanks to this treatment and to the carefully-judged mixture of components used, Brembo's new XTRA pads show a constant behaviour both during the high temperature braking cycles as well as during the following cold cycles.

The new pads come in distinctive new packaging and with a laser engraved logo. All the Brembo XTRA range part numbers are homologated for road use, according to the ECE R-90 standard.
