OESAA Academy Live! Special June Training Day

Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) are urging garages to attend a special technical training day aimed at honing their skills and preparing for the future.

OESAA is a firm believer that the best way for technicians to keep in touch with the latest technology is to learn about it first hand from the original equipment suppliers who design and manufacture the latest high-tech components for the world’s leading vehicle producers.

As part of this philosophy, the very best technical trainers in the industry will be on hand at OESAA Academy Live! which is being held at the Bosch Training Centre in Uxbridge, Middlesex on Saturday, June 20th. This will be a full day of hands-on training sessions on a variety of topics, including clinics on Battery Technology, Belt Drives, Clutch and Driveline, Engine Management, Filtration and Transmission Corner.
The event follows last November’s OESAA-powered AutoInform Live event which attracted 180 technicians from all parts of the UK and Ireland to the GTG Training Academy in Wolverhampton. OESAA Chairman Nigel Morgan, Managing Director of Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket said, "AutoInform Live was a fantastic success and we are confident that OESAA Academy Live! will be too. Delegates will receive hands-on training from some of the industry’s best technical instructors, all of whom are experts in their field.”

The clinics include:
  • Battery Technology: On-vehicle programming; Smart charge testing; Battery quality and technology
  • Belt Drives: Front End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD) – Evolution/Torsional vibration/Failure analysis;  OAP/OAD – Differences/Symptoms/Test procedure/Quality
  • Clutches and Driveline: Dual Mass Flywheels (DMFs) – Design & operation/Diagnostics; Self-Adjusting Clutches (SACs) – Correct installation/Tooling/Common problems
  • Engine Management: Engine/Fuel management systems; Diesel technology; Spark plugs, glow plugs, sensors
  • Filtration: Oil/Air/Fuel filter know-how; Cabin/Pollen filter opportunities
  • Transmission Corner: ZF 6HP Automatic Transmission – Servicing/problems/flashing etc.; Volkswagen DSG (DQ200) – How it works/Removal & replacement/Tools; Renault EDC and Ford PowerShift – Operational differences to VW DQ200
OESAA says, the training day is excellent value at just £50+VAT for which delegates will receive a Bosch OBD 150 diagnostics tool (RRP £129+VAT) to use in their own workshop. This means that the entire day of training, including lunch and refreshments, is essentially free.

The Bosch training centre in Uxbridge is only a short drive, or taxi journey, from Heathrow Airport, making it easily accessible to Irish technicians.

To secure a place telephone the hotline on 0044 1827 871891 or alternatively email oesaa@wlpr.co.uk. Early booking is recommended as only 150 places available.
