More new additions have been made to the LuK clutch range bringing the vehicle parc coverage of products added this year to more than five million additional vehicles.

So far components added to the LuK clutch range by Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket in 2012 comprise: 46 LuK RepSets,  48 LuK RepSet Pros, 17 Dual Mass Flywheels and 13 LuK Cylinders.

Some of the key new additions just released are; a Concentric Slave Cylinder for applications including the Suzuki Grand Vitara (JT) 1.9 DDiS, 10/2005-, a LuK Slave Cylinder for vehicles which include the Peugeot 207 (WD) 1.6v, 02/2007-; a LuK Master Cylinder for applications including the Toyota Corolla (E12U, E12J) 1.4 VVT-i, 01/2002-; and a LuK DMF for vehicles including the Land Rover Discovery  MkII (LJ, LT) 2.5 Td5, 01/1999-06/2004.

Malcolm Short, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd Technical Services Manager, said: “There have been some significant additions in recent months to the LuK Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder range and some customers may be unaware of how strong our range is. All the parts are OE and are available through independent aftermarket oulets.” He added, “We will continue to add to our LuK product range as we approach the end of the year and into 2013 to make sure we remain ahead of our competitors.”

Malcolm also pointed out that LuK was continuing to add to its DMF range and warned that garages run the risk of damaging a customer’s vehicle by fitting a 4-in-1 solid flywheel replacement kit instead of a DMF. He said, “Mechanics and drivers have reported severe damage being caused to vehicles by the fitment of non-original equipment (OE) conversion kits.” He went on to say, “Modern petrol and diesel engines are now designed to be lighter and to produce more power and torque at lower speeds.  They are also expected to be more fuel efficient and produce fewer emissions while still providing a smooth and refined driving experience. DMFs are vital in meeting all of these targets as they protect a vehicle’s drivetrain from damage caused by harmful vibrations. They are now fitted on one in two new cars being built in Europe today.”
