ŠKODA has announced a new entry-point into the Octavia range, with the introduction of an alternative 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine producing 90bhp.

The new model is positioned €700 below the best-selling 1.6 TDI, 105bhp unit and offers buyers less concerned with performance the option to upgrade to better equipped models for a similar price.

“This was a very popular choice in the previous generation of the Octavia and now looks set to command a large portion of Octavia sales, as it will offer a lower price-point for buyers,” said ŠKODA’s Head of Marketing Raymond Leddy.

With CO2 emissions of 109g/km for this new engine offering, the 90bhp Octavia resides in Motor Tax Band A3 (€190) and has fuel-economy figures of 4.1 l/100km.

The new model is available to order at the ŠKODA Open Event from the 8th of November. During the event ŠKODA Dealers nationwide will be offering finance rates from 3.9% APR as well as exceptional trade in allowances.
