Some rare cars of the stars are to be auctioned in September by RM Sotheby’s in London’s Battersea Park. The list includes an Austin Princess owned by John Lennon and a classic Mercedes owned by actor James Mason.

The Austin Princess is a far cry from the car that carried this name in the 70’s. It is a 1956 model used by Lennon and Yoko Ono in the 1972 film Imagine. It is still fitted with the five aeroplane seats in the back that Lennon had added and will be sold with its original vehicle registration/title document, signed by Lennon when he purchased it in 1971.

Other cars available at the sale include a 1966 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Cabriolet purchased new by the actor, James Mason. This not only has celebrity appeal, but was also a rare low-volume production model.

The auction will be held at Battersea Evolution in London on September 7th.
