To celebrate its 20th anniversary in business, KD Autoparts recently hosted an open day at its premises on the Ballybane Industrial Estate in Galway.
The company first opened for business, then on the Tuam Road on June 25th 1999. 20 years to the day later there was a special celebration that included, competitions, special offers, display stands and displays, including the Beta Tools demonstration van and a live afternoon broadcast of two shows by Galway Bay FM from the premises.
The business was set up by Martin Kennedy and Gerry and Maureen Duggan, with the team of three soon expanding to cope with growing demand. The ethos of the company has always been about providing first class service and this is reflected in the fact that many of its first customers, from 20 years ago, remain loyal customers today, having grown with the support of KD. Recognition of this great service and the efforts the company goes to do business in Irish, has also been received in the form of an award in the Retail Category in Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s bilingual business awards.
Another feature of the business has been staff continuity, which means that the team has first class product knowledge and experience and so can identify the parts a customer needs quickly and accurately. As well as a strong trade customer base of garages and bodyshops all over the region, KD Autoparts has also developed a healthy retail business and has become a one stop shop for drivers motoring needs in the Galway area.
