There was a strong focus on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) at Automechanika Birmingham this year and as a leader in this fast developing field HELLA was at the heart of the action. Hella Gutmann Solutions offered both ADAS seminars and on stand training and demonstrations of its latest solutions.

One of the most talked about items was the ADAS camera and radar calibration CSC-Tool Mobile, a portable version of the ground-breaking CSC-Tool, for mobile technicians and workshops with limited space. HELLA says the CSC-Tool Mobile is engineered to the same exacting criteria and accuracy as the standard version, but with the added bonus of being ultra-portable and easily assembled in just a few minutes.

HELLA also launched the K-LED beacon, which is the first of its kind and combines design and state-of-the-art LED technology to allow manufacturers, particularly in the construction and mining industry, to give their vehicles the best in safety lighting, with a unique appearance.

As well as new product launches, HELLA presented bite-size training sessions and gave talks on its stand to give visitors an idea of both the exciting advances the company is making and the ongoing developments in the wider industry. Helen Goldingay, senior head of marketing and communications for HELLA UK, said, “Our focus was to continue to educate the aftermarket regarding the importance of ADAS technologies and the impact they are having on the industry. This year however, visitors were far more aware of ADAS and the investment they need to make in their businesses in order to keep pace with, and benefit from, the ongoing developments.” She added, “The show as a whole seemed to have more of an emphasis on how workshops need to future proof their business and I’m glad to see this change because as new technology becomes commonplace, independent workshops need to know how to undertake its service and repair with confidence.”
