In line with the ongoing expansion of its high quality components and equipment product range, Hella Ireland will bring a new extension to its warehouse online at its Santry headquarters this month.

 

The development work will provide a further 800 sq metres of storage space and add considerable capacity and flexibility to the Hella Ireland logistics operation. The extension also includes additional office space for the growing Hella team.

 

Speaking about the new development Johannes Schade, Aftermarket Managing Director at Hella Ireland commented, "We have rapidly expanded our product range in recent months, introducing many important high quality new lines. Our philosophy is always to offer excellent application coverage in new product areas and to maintain extensive stocks locally to cope with growing demand. This means that we now need more space and the new development adjacent to our existing warehouse will provide us with this.”    

 

In recent months Hella Ireland has made a number of high profile additions to its product portfolio including Hengst filters, PowerMax starters and alternators, Elring engine parts, and LuK clutches. In each new product area the aim is to offer at least 95% application coverage. Maintaining such a range and depth of stock not only means more demand on space but also that the warehouse runs very smoothly and effectively.   

 

Johannes explains that under the guidance of Warehouse Manager Brendan Scanlon, the new warehouse facility will have larger bins and hundreds of additional pallet locations, allowing for improved product flow, a more flexible layout and more efficient logistics. It will also utilise pick by scan technology to further improve order pick accuracy and efficiency. He says, "The new facility will allow us to meet our customer needs more efficiently and will also allow us to continue with our product range expansion programme so that we can provide a complete after market product solution for our customers.”
