The motor factors golfing society held its Captains Day outing at Tralee Golf Club, on Friday April 29th in blistering sunshine.


Society Captain John Nolan (Agri-Autoparts, Killarney) was delighted with the turnout and welcomed all players to Tralee and expressed his gratitude to the sponsors for their continued and generous support. The outing was well attended by 44 golfers, representing Motor Factors and Wholesalers from all parts of the country.

Captain John Nolan was pleased to present his prize to Brian O’Neill (TechPlus Ltd) who returned a score of 45 points (h/cap 15) on what Brian described as one of his better days, while playing under near perfect conditions.

The proceedings were followed by the AGM where Mark Lawless was re-elected as Society Hon’ Secretary and Tom Crowley re-elected as H/cap Secretary, outgoing Captain John Nolan proposed John Mannion of Galway as Captain for the coming year. John was pleased to accept and said that his Captains prize will be contested next May 2012 at a venue to be announced. Outgoing President Tom Kennedy (Strongline) proposed John O’Hanlon (National Autoparts) to replace him for the coming year. John likewise was pleased to accept, stating that his Presidents prize will be contested this coming September at a venue to be announced.
