Sure to be one of the stars at the London Classic Car Show later this month is a rare 1961 E-Type Jaguar which has undergone what must be just about the ultimate restoration job.

The shell of the car was discovered in a shed in rural France in 2013. It was little more than a rusting hulk and even had the added accessory of a birds nest in its rear quarter.

Fortunately, the team from Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth, in the UK, knew that this was a very rare find and something well worth restoring. They identified it as a Series 1 3.8 Litre right hand drive model that was Chassis No. 860015. This was a very earlier example and one of six E-Types to go on display at the Scottish Motor Show in November 1961.

The complete nut and bolt restoration took a painstaking 2,956 hours of skilled labour, as the company craftsmen tried to save as many original features as possible. The team even replicated the original colour scheme of a pearl grey exterior and light blue interior.

The restoration job is certainly very impressive and Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth should be commended on saving this rare and beautiful car.
