The Ford Motor Company has announced it is splitting its car manufacturing business into separate EV-only and internal combustion engine divisions. The move is designed to add more flexibilkity to Ford operation in its quest to successfully compete in the growing EV sector.

The new electric arm will pay homage to Fords’ heritage by being called Model e. The division will not only accelerate large-scale development of electric models, but will also focus on connected vehicle technology for the whole Ford operation.

The internal combustion engine  division, will be known as Ford Blue.
