Thorsten Godulla, new MD at Audi Ireland
Thursday, September 13, 2018
Audi Ireland has announced the appointment of Thorsten Godulla as its new Managing Director, effective 1st of October 2018.

Mr Godulla has enjoyed a successful 25-year career at Audi encompassing management and leadership positions in the UK, Germany and at the Headquarters. He brings with him a wealth of experience in many areas including Sales, Product, Aftersales, Dealer Development and Finance.

Mr Godulla will join the Irish business from his current role as Director of Overseas Sales for the Africa and Near Middle East region based in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The appointment comes as the company’s outgoing Managing Director, Henning Dohrn, will be promoted to the Head of Sales Strategy in Audi’s headquarter in Ingolstadt, Germany.

Speaking today, Fintan Knight, Head of Europe AUDI AG said: “I’m delighted to announce Thorsten as the new Managing Director of Ireland; he brings with him a very high level of expertise which will be needed to underpin our position as the most desired premium car brand in Ireland.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Henning for his strong contribution to the business over the past years.  He expanded the dealer network, increased customer convenience by digitalisation and kept the No.1 position in the premium Market for Audi during his time heading Audi Ireland. He also prepared the brand for the market launch of the upcoming generation of fully electric Audis. I am very much looking forward to working more closely with him in the future here in Germany.”

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Dohrn said, “I really enjoyed my time in Ireland, and I am very proud of what we as a team achieved together. I want to thank the Audi Ireland team and the dealer network for the great collaboration. Now I am looking forward to taking on a new challenge within AUDI AG headquarters in Germany. I am very pleased to welcome Thorsten Godulla to Audi Ireland and the Audi Network. His extensive international experience and passion for the automotive sector is a great asset, and I am convinced that he will continue to contribute to the success of the Audi Premium Brand in Ireland”.
