An electric future for Jaguar

All electric Jaguars could be a reality in as little as two years, with the company thought to be developing up to three models for production.


It emerged recently that Jaguar owners filed patents for an EV-Type model, as well as an I-Type and I-Pace, which are likely to be EV versions of the F-TYPE sports car and F-PACE crossover. There is now speculation that the Paris Motor Show in the autumn will be the launching point for concept versions of the developing green options.

It has also been widely reported that electric battery technology engineered by Williams Advanced Engineering will form a key element in the designs. Williams is already a collaborator with Jaguar on the C-X75 and its Formula E Series cars.

The first electric powered Jaguar is expected to be in showrooms some time in 2018.
