Expect more was the theme of the Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket stand at the 2014 Automechanika show, now featuring four leading brand names with Ruville being added to LuK, INA, and FAG.

The four brands came together in an impressive 1,200 square meter exhibition space, which was a buzz of activity throughout the event. As well as new products, there was a special focus on garage activities and services, with the online portal RepXpert relaunched in a new design. There were also live technology demonstrations, help with diagnosis, along with installation and repair tips from Schaeffler technical experts.

One product innovation attracting special attention on the Schaeffler stand was the INA GearBOX, a completely new kind of repair solution for passenger-car manual transmissions, that lets garages fix gearbox damage in-house. The INA GearBOX is developed for a specified transmission type and comes with all necessary components for professional transmission repair in OE quality. Besides wear parts, like gaskets, o-rings, shaft seals and main bearings inside the transmission, the repair solution also contains those components needed to fix the most common causes of transmission failure. Schaeffler believes this offers huge new business potential for the aftermarket and is currently trialling the concept across Europe.

Other innovations being introduced under the "expect more” banner included the INA FEAD KIT, the Ruville rear- axle repair solution for Peugeot/Citroën passenger cars, along with the modular LuK special tool system for removal and installation of dry double clutches.

As well as products for the passenger cars and heavy commercial vehicles, this year also saw an emphasis on the light commercial vehicle segment, with its own product display and special Glass Truck used to exhibit the product portfolio in a vivid, interactive and detailed way.
