The replacement vehicle lighting sector has undergone a huge transformation in recent years and with lighting and vehicle manufacturers developing new technology at pace this trend set to grow even more. With significant added complexity and much higher value replacement products, finding the right lighting supplier is not always easy. However, Somora Motor Parts, a long standing expert in this field, believes it can provide a perfect solution with a huge range of products available to meet all needs, from one single trusted source.

Somora Sales Manager Stephen Lawless says, “Lighting used to be a relatively simple sector for the aftermarket, based mainly around inexpensive halogen bulb replacements. However, the technology has taken huge strides in recent years and we have developed our lighting range to reflect this.”

Stephen says that over recent months more than a thousand new items have been added to the Somora lighting range to keep pace with the fast changing requirements of modern vehicles. He comments, “We can offer traditional halogen, Xenon and LED options sourced from select original equipment and aftermarket suppliers including renowned names such as Hella, Valeo and Magneti Marelli. It means we can cater for all types of lighting technology and also provide products that offer excellent value to meet particular budget requirements.”

Stephen points out that the cost of replacement lighting products is now a major factor on some of the latest vehicles, especially those with LED headlamps. Drivers are often shocked by cost which can run to hundreds, or in some cases thousands, of Euro to address lighting faults. He says, “With some of the latest technology customers face huge bills for dealer sourced lighting parts. By sourcing a Somora product through a local motor factor they can make significant savings and without compromising on quality.” He adds, “In some instances we can also offer a more economical solution in an alternatives technology.”

Stephen also points out that all Somora products are either in-stock in the Dublin HQ or can be sourced quickly. This means that customers can often access the products they need more promptly than vehicle manufacturer parts, which tend not to be in-stock with dealers.

With LED technology now becoming the norm on many vehicles, finding effective and economical replacement products will become a major issue in the coming years. LED headlamps now feature on many premium models as first options and are standard on many more, including the latest BMW’s. They also tend to feature very heavily on electric vehicles because they produce less battery draw.

Stephen comments, “Whatever lighting technology is used on a vehicle, Somora can offer effective and economical replacements. Customers can find what they are looking for quickly in our online catalogue and the products are available nationwide through motor factors.
