Draper Tools is renowned for its high quality range of battery chargers and battery maintenance equipment, with these items in particular demand this winter. Automotive batteries have had to work hard due to the cold weather, something that means jump starters and power packs always need to be on hand. Two new items of battery maintenance equipment proving especially popular in the Draper line-up at present are the 12V Heavy Duty Portable Power Pack and the 12 V Capacitor Jump Starter.

The 12V Heavy Duty Portable Power Pack (Stock No: 82361 / Part No: JS3200) has a rated amperage of 1600-3200A. It is a portable and versatile power pack that offers heavy duty performance and is powerful enough to start engines requiring 12V batteries.

The unit is fitted with LED battery condition and charge indicators, and a test button which gives true battery indication. It also has a 12V DC power output socket and rotating clamp holsters attached with 1M heavy duty booster cables with insulated jaws. It is supplied with a 230V mains charger and can be a very useful piece of equipment for garages, bodyshops, and sales outlets.

Drapers new Capacitor Jump Starter is an innovative, easy to use jump starter suitable for a wide range of applications. The starter (Stock No: 82957 / Part No: CJS800) can be fully primed in approximately two minutes, and is fitted with advanced capacitor technology, which enables it to jump-start vehicles up to 6L petrol and 3L diesel. Unlike most chargers on the market, this charger is fitted with an internal battery, which energises the inbuilt capacitors, enabling the charger to start vehicles even when a vehicles battery is completely flat.

The unit is capable of being recharged by 12V DC and USB charging cables which are both supplied. It also has an LED digital display that indicates battery voltage, capacitor charge, lithium battery charge, reverse polarity and function selection. The starter is also fitted with a convenient inbuilt torch with 3 lighting functions and it is wrapped in a non-slip protective rubber case. Draper says this compact and lightweight charger provides easy handling and storage, yet still delivers the same result as a traditional, more bulky charger unit.
