Mannol delivers on oil specification

A rapidly growing phenomenon in garages across Ireland, are cars with engine, turbo or DPF issues caused by poor oil maintenance. More and more motorists are facing costly repair bills because they have far exceeded a recommended oil change interval, or they have used the incorrect oil for the engine.

The old oil adage of "one size fits all” is now having a huge negative impact and while many in the independent aftermarket have woken up to the possibilities of new oil technology, there is still a long way to go when it comes to educating the motorist.

Greg Lonergan is the Sales Director of Carcessories, which distributes the fast growing Mannol lubricants brand in Ireland. He says Mannol can provide a perfect oil solution for garages and motorists. He comments, "The importance of the right spec of oil is now hitting home with more and more people, but sometimes drivers will make compromises because of price. Mannol has been a great success because it has a range that can deliver the right specification of oil for any vehicle, is approved by many car manufacturers, but it is also very competitively priced.”

Incorrect oil choice has many consequences, meaning reduced engine performance, higher fuel consumption and increased emissions which are bad enough. But it is the longer term damage that can be even worse. Sludge and other contaminants in the engine and vehicle systems can cause untold damage to all kinds of components including plugs, injectors, turbos, and fuel systems as well as the engine itself. The harsh truth is, modern engines require an exact specification of oil with the right viscosity alone not enough.

Greg says, "Mannol oil is approved by various car and commercial vehicle manufacturers, such as Daimler-Benz, VW, MAN, Renault, and Volvo. We have a complete range to meet all vehicle specifications. The oil is very well presented and comes at a price that offers the customer premium quality and outstanding value.”

The range includes many OE spec oils that are now proving very popular with independent garages, such as the Mannol Energy Combi LL SAE 5W-30, which has been approved by Volkswagen in  accordance with VW standard 504 00 and VW standard 507 00. Also proving very popular is Mannol O.E.M. 5W-30 API SN/CF. This fully synthetic oil also meets VW 504 and 507 specification as well as those of many other car makers, including Mercedes, GM and BMW Longlife-04.

Mannol oils are available from motor factors across Ireland.
