New Peugeot Managing Director Designate
The Board of Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers in
Ireland, is pleased to announce the appointment of George Harbourne as
Managing Director Designate, with immediate effect. George will replace
David McConnell as Managing Director, when David retires on 15th
September 2010. David will remain as Non-Executive Director for a year
post retirement and will work closely with the Gowan Distributors
management team, to ensure a smooth transition.
George joined Gowan Distributors in 1985 and brings a wealth of
expertise and experience in all aspects of the motor industry to his
new role. He spent many years developing the Peugeot parts business
before taking responsibility for overall aftersales in 2004, where he
again initiated many positive changes with a commercial and sales
focus. In 2008 he was appointed Commercial Director, assuming
responsibility for both sales and aftersales.
George, a keen golfer and member of the Balcarrick Golf Club, North
County Dublin, is married to Nuala and has three sons. His motto in
life has always been, "Do the best you can today - no one is promised
tomorrow."
