In deep

Here is a tough recovery done well. Haulage firm Damac Transporters were left with a big wet headache when one of its trucks, a fully loaded 44-tonne articulated tanker rolled of a quayside into Goole dock in north east England. Fortunately the driver was not in the cab at the time, but the truck embedded itself deep in the silt at the bottom of the dock making recovery difficult.

Hull Company Northern Divers were called to carry out the recovery and eventually managed to pull out the tanker and tractor unit separately, using a 450 tonne and a 250 tonne crane. The divers getting electric shocks every time they went by the truck batteries complicated the recovery.
