3M launches headlamp repair kit

3M have launched a new Headlamp Repair Kit, which it sees as a viable and cost effective alternative to expensive headlamp replacement.

The kit contains a range of high quality tools and materials that allow the user to complete a six-part process which is similar to flatting and polishing, repairing and restoring each headlamp in as little as 15 to 30 minutes. Two new compounds, 3M Plastic Restorer and 3M Plastic Polish, complete the repair system.

Most headlamps now have a plastic lense which deteriorates overtime through the effect of sunlight, UV hazing and discolouration. In some cases this can make the light unsafe and could cause NCT failure. Using the kit the headlamp can be restored to near new condition, while it can also be used to repair minor headlamp damage. This can mean a big saving over the high cost of new replacement unit.
