McElligott’s, Tralee, in association with Honda are the new sponsor of Ladies Day at the Listowel Harvest Racing Festival on Friday 18th of September.

The McElligott’s Honda Ladies Day will be judged by Alison Canavan, top international model, and expert in nutrition, health and wellbeing, and Brian Purcell, Kerryman and former Apprentice star.  Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most glamorous Ladies Day events, this year there is a cash prize fund of €5,750, and three additional new categories, including the McElligott’s Honda Best Dressed Couple, the McElligott’s Honda Jazziest Headpiece and the Listowel Races Most Glamorous Young Racegoer.

Welcoming today’s announcement, John McGuire, Chairman, Listowel Race Company said, “Listowel Race Company are delighted to welcome McElligott’s Honda on-board as the new Sponsors of our Ladies Day in September. It’s an exciting new sponsorship and we look forward to September 18th and a wonderful competition. I also wish to thank our previous Ladies Day sponsors, Mary and Patricia O Flaherty from Chic Boutique, Listowel for their wonderful support of the event for 25 years. “

Patrick McElligott, Managing Director, McElligott’s Tralee noted the longstanding association with Listowel Race Company through their many years of race sponsorship said: “Listowel Races success is based on a very hard working committee whose dedication has seen continuous growth and allowed this meeting to evolve and become one of the leading sporting and social events on the calendar in Ireland today. It is only right that McElligott’s should be a part of this massive event, and we are delighted to sponsor the McElligott’s Honda Ladies Day at Listowel Races on Friday 18th of September.

“It is ideal timing for us, as it coincides with the launch of the all new Honda Jazz and the very fashionable and long awaited new Honda HR-V. These two models will be significant players in their respective markets and we already have a lot of pre-launch interest.”

McElligott’s are one of the most established Honda Dealers in the country, and have a loyal and ever increasing customer base since their first Honda sale in January 1989.

“We look forward to working with the team at Listowel Races, and I am sure that both Alison Canavan, Honda’s Brand Ambassador and Brian Purcell will ensure that the McElligott’s Honda Ladies Day, with the increased prize fund and stylish new competition categories, will be a great success” he concluded.

The winner of the McElligott’s Honda Ladies Day will receive a cash prize of a cheque for €3,000. The first runner up will receive a cheque for €1,000 and second runner up a cheque for €500. In addition, Listowel Races are sponsoring a prize of €500 for the most Glamorous Young Racer under 25 years of age, with a runner up prize of €250. The winners of the McElligott’s Honda Jazziest Headpiece will receive a cheque for €500 and the McElligott’s Honda Best Dressed Couple will win a weekend for two in Carton House.

The annual 7 day Listowel Harvest meeting runs from Sunday 13th to Saturday 19th of September.  Full details of the programme will be announced in early August.
