The Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme continues to keep cars that are marginal uneconomic repairs on the road, through all parties working together and the application of extra discounts by Toyota Dealer Parts departments. But the programme does much more than just save cars from being written off. It also saves drivers the often huge expense and inconvenience of having to find a new vehicle and helps them ease through what can be a very traumatic experience.

One bodyshop that has been seeing the benefits of the Write-Off Avoidance Programme for several years is Tadg Riordan in Ashbourne. Bodyshop Manager Terry Rooney is full of praise for the innovative programme and the benefits it can offer both his workshop and Toyota customers.

Terry say, “Having an accident and making an insurance claim is a stressful experience for motorists and finding out that their car is a write-off can really add to this stress. The programme allows us to repair cars that are marginal and this comes as a huge relief to most customers.”

Terry says that especially at present, drivers do not want the hassle and expense of sourcing a replacement car and would much rather have their own repaired. However, with newer cars carrying more and more sophisticated technology, even a minor impact can sometimes push a car towards being a write-off. When this happens Terry can request extra discounts on Toyota parts to make the repair possible. He comments, “It is a very easy programme to work with. We simply send off the estimate and get an answer back very quickly. Generally it is a positive outcome that satisfies the driver, the insurer and gives us an additional job.”

Terry adds, “Drivers also have the knowledge that their car is being safely repaired to the highest standards using genuine Toyota parts.”

As well as helping the driver, the programme also offers environmental benefits by avoiding unnecessary write-offs. The easy to administer programme is open to all bodyshops, including independents and those from non Toyota franchises.

For more information on the Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme, repairers should contact their local Toyota Dealer Parts Department, from the 46 strong nationwide Toyota dealer network.
